Rick, yeah I removed that. Be warned though doing so voids warrantee I am told. The cover slip glass is probably very flat but it might only be a smidge out of orthogonal and this could cause some back reflections. The cover slip does not look to have any anti reflection coatings on it and I suspect this is what is causing the grief.
Dennis, no more mosaics is the aim of the game here but in perfect seeing, I think a mosaic at say 4 panels might produce exceptional results. Perhaps even astounding. Yesterdays seeing was the best I have seen since April this year. With the warmer and dryer conditions on the way I can hopefully get some more nice data before maximum is over.
