Hi all, few weeks after I posted my image of Omega Centauri I got a chance to process the fits I took on the second largest globular of the sky, 47 Tuc. The link:
47 Tuc (NGC 104)
Here again I opted for a long exposure (mostly in luminance) to have enough s/n to stretch a see how large was the external halo of the cluster. To my surprise it turned out to be similar if no bigger than Omega centauri itself, imaged
here with the same setup, scale and similar exposure data and stretching..
However this is another incredible object both photographically and visually, a real beauty of the sky!
About 10 hours of accumulated light, details on the image page..
Clear skies
