IC4628 from the suburbs of Brisbane...

Hello all!

Well last night was a complete reversal to the last time I tried to image. Everything worked like a charm and I managed to image IC4628, the Prawn Nebula.

Now because of where I set up in the backyard, I only get about 3 hours to image this nebula as it rises and sets above the house which is to my south. So the image which I've attached is 20 x 5 minute subs using my RC8.

I've done very little cropping on this image and I note some elongation of the stars in the top right hand corner. From my limited knowledge of RC scopes, I'm thinking that the primary collimation may be slightly off or perhaps that this is just a feature of the imaging plane. Either way I'm happy to just live with it and crop when necessary.

Anyway, here is IC4628, the Prawn Nebula...

Cheers,
Mario
