I already have the latest version of VMware with a very large XP, Linux , windows 98-2e and DOS 7 installed including Autocad lite for windows. I have also run ACAD11 in the virtual DOS. That is why I need to keep the drawings separate as ACAD2000 loads the DOS dwgs but converts them to the ACAD14 version which does not work in ACAD11.
Note: I do have a program that will convert them back.

As I already had an Autocad2000 instalation disk that I have never used I thought I would like to have it run directly on Win 7 and Win 8. This was the way I was able to do it. Acad2000 is a 32 bit program . The problem is that the supplied setup stub is 16 bit and won't do the installation. You need a 32 bit installer for win 7. However if you already have an installed version in XP you can run that directly in Win 7.

On a clean installation you will get the error messages *.dll is missing. These are already on the distribution disk and you keep adding them 'til the program starts. I think it needs 7 restarts to get them all.
