Actually, sleeping on the train is great, as long as you have a sleeper, which I did. I just love drifting off to the "rythym of the rails".
But, the one thing I couldn't do was read the paper they gave us each morning. Simply because my eyes kept drifting from the page to the window, so just gave up. It is an amazing country of contrasts. But, sadly, I did also notice a lot of decay and empty factories

We have it so good in Australia, despite the higher costs we have to pay.
