I love chasing dark nebulae, and this image of yours led me to find a concise list of "The Best of Barnard's Dark Nebulae".

Thanks Alexander - have just been catching up on the thread - sounds like a great visual challenge. That's a great list of Barnard objects too I'll have to check out.
It'd be great if others found some interest in this "little bit out of the way" object and other dark nebs.
