What I did was first exporting the orbital simulations from SkySafari into JPEG images for the three dates, then using the JPEGs as template to draw the orbits and planets on three key frames in After Effects, and finally taking advantage of After Effects' camera function to animate the viewing perspective. Not really technical, just a bit time consuming : )

Thanks for sharing... very cool! I have access to After Effects as part of my student subscription, but never got around to using it properly. Something to do during our cloudy weather. If you were to write a tutorial, I'm sure it would be popular... hint hint
