Anybody have a Fringe killer or MV filter in Canberra?

Hi,
We are presently evaluating different models of microscopes for purchase at ANU at present. One model, a Leica, has good ergonomics, sharp optics but really obvious & distracting lateral chromatic aberration. We are using it to pick out white microfossils against a black background so it's analogous to looking at the Moon in a dark sky. We otherwise like the microscope much more than others costing much more.

I'm wondering if a minus violet or fringe killer would solve the CA problem? If someone in Canberra has one of these filters they'd be willing to loan us for a day or two we'd really appreciate it. It will be well looked after. The loan will need to be in the next few days, while we have the microscope on loan.

Please PM me or reply to this thread and I'll send you my contact details.

Many thanks

Joe Cali
