OK
In the interests of science, astrophotography and just to satisfy good old-fashioned curiosity, I'm proposing a very brief exchange ... of webcams.
I have a Celestron NexImage camera I'm keen to exchange for a few weeks to maybe a month with a Toucam Pro II owner for the sake of comparing their performance as planetary astrocams.
Mine is just a straight NexImage. No mods ... no trickery. Just straight out of the box. Ideally i'd like to switch with someone with the Toucam of similar condition, although it would obviously need to have the 1.25" nosepiece adaptor for inserting in the scope's ep holder!!!!
I'll include the AmCap software disc and instructions so you can have it up and running in a jiffy. I trust you'll do the same with whatever software's required to take the ToUcam for a spin on my lappy:D
I can't believe it's actually never been proposed before on this forum.
So.... anyone want to take part in this little experiment which may help lay to rest one of the great astronomical rivalries of our time?
NexImage ... TouCam Pro II .... let the comparison begin;)
