All it takes is a few minutes of the right light and it can make the day all worthwhile.

That’s what happened at Long Jetty on a sunset session at the end of October. It was my first photography session since my Kimberley trip and I was fortunate enough to end up at Long Jetty with a beautiful afternoon sky and calm water for a shot at one of the jetty’s.

The clouds had been fairly dull and lifeless but the Sun got to the right angle and they lit up, producing the light we were hoping for.

ISO400, f/11, 25mm, 1/30s exposure.

I also captured an 8-frame panorama. It’s such a beautiful spot to photograph.

And for the last one, I saw this couple walking along the jetty and waited until they stopped walking so I could capture their reflection in the water. Not everyone likes people in their landscape photography, but sometimes it can help tell a story or show scale. What do you think?

Lovely...!
The jetty looks endless.
To me, these pics have a real HDR feel about them. Particularly like the first one.

The title had me a bit worried......

 I don't get it. :P

The first photo is the pick of the bunch for me. I have said it before but your photos easily rival Ken Duncan's works. Sell the best images to the jig-saw companies and give him some competition.

Thanks guys, I went for an intentionally bolder look, especially for #1.

For some people it'll work, others not so :)

Appreciate the feedback.

I really like #3 - especially the vertical and horizontal symmetry.

the reflections of the people are fantastic. Getting water still enough is a huge challenge.

How beautiful are these !
Love the colour saturation Mike.
They're all great, but #3 is my fav, the touch of green in the boat, awesome.

Agree that is a beautiful spot there Mike.
I have spent many hours in that area with my camera too.
The colours of the lake and the Western afternoon skies can be spectacular.
Your shots are terrific.
You do have a knack of being in the right place at the right time.

And I agree with Deeno about the title...
but I can see the parallel :)
Orgasmic !
