The Sun in white light, through an open window in the dining room because I'm lazy. :P
A single frame, 1/125th second at ISO 200, Pentax K-x, Kson ED80, GSO ED barlow, Orion glass solar filter.
Looks like some nice big spots about to come into view over the next few days.

Some nice surface detail there for a white light image.

Thanks Peter. I'm rather enjoying my morning ritual of solar viewing around breakfast. I don't always take pics, but so far have been viewing most mornings.

I'm really impressed with the surface features, would you mind if I had a play with the image to see what's there?

Play away, though it's already stretched fairly hard.

I've overdone it a bit, but I just wanted to get a look at the surface texture.

Okay. I think I did similar but realised I needed a few stacks to reduce the noise. The optimal would probably be a stack of video frames, but I'm not setup to do that at the moment, unless I can coax video out of the Pentax... Maybe next year I'll get some equipment more optimised for solar system work, but at the moment I'm still gathering equipment for deep sky.

Wow. Didn't realise that was a single image.
That is really a great image for a single shot.
