This was my first solar eclipse, Driving up from Brissy to Port Douglas for the big event, I was absolutely shattered when a large cloud moved in front of the sun 2 mins from second contact. Day turned to night, And you can see Venus clearly visible to the left of the sun. Then about 30 seconds in the eclipsed sun began to emerge from behind the clouds and you can actually see the ring of the eclipse through the clouds in the second wide angle shot. I didn't get all the shots I wanted and captured little of the Corona because of the clouds. But it was a spectacular sight and experience. Filters going on at the end and a great comparison of just how dark it really got during the eclipse.

Even though you had some cloud you still got some great shots. Thanks for posting your images, especially for those who could not make it to FNQ for the total.

Thanks for the compliments guys, It was a really great trip and a roller coaster ride. I had been having issues with Eclipse Orchestrator Pro for weeks leading up to the event and trying to get my scripts to work properly with 2 cameras. I finally got the script sorted about 12 hours before the event. Then I left a cable behind on the morning off, meaning I couldn't connect my netbook to get a great alignment (near enough ended up good enough, with regular adjustments). When the cloud moved over the sun about 2 mins out I almost felt sick with disappointment, in fact in the first wide angle shot you can see my standing with my hands behind my head. But it all worked out well in the end:)
