Hi,

It's nearly summer, and the storms are building up!

The lightning was spectacular, sent the power off a few times! Must check the CFS site for fires in the district, I'm a little worried about a strike in the tinder dry paddock behind the house and observatory.

Canon 1100D video mode 30 frames per sec, snap shot capture individual frames.

Cheers,

Justin.

Yes the lightning has been terrific the last few days.. especially yesterday three good chases I did, all lightning active :)

Images are great with good foreground objects :)

I saw a fire started out near Freeling/nurri area started by Lightning, got the strike on camera too :)

Thanks Laurie!

Thanks Carlos!

Thanks jjj!

Looks worse than it was, the closest was about 2kms south but man they were powerful stikes!

Thanks David!

Only ever had that once, when we lived in the town. I was sitting under the verandah watching a storm, and I felt my hair bristle a almighty flash and crack. The lighting struck power pole at the front of the house.
Dashed inside rather quick after that one!

Thanks Adam!

Thanks Rick!

Thanks Ken!

Thanks Andrew!

Iv'e been lucky, no need to chase, it seems to be coming over Penwortham every time there's been a storm recently, just hope we don't get a strike in the paddock behind us. Now all I need to do is get a lighning trigger, for better images.

Cheers,

Justin.

Night stuff you don't need the trigger, but certainly helps with the day stuff...

Yep, I use the laptop for night shots.

Maybe get a intervalometer so you don't have to lug the computer around :)
