A work in progress... I think the h-alpha data is coming along OK

Very nice Peter. Really shows what the AP RH can do.

Ta!

Don't know about epic...just happy to have some 'scope time at present :)

NB or HaRGB . Suffice to say hope the weather stays clear to allow either.

It's a tricky beastie...doesn't like poor/average seeing at all, but sure pulls in the photons and really purrs along when the seeing is good.

That looks very nice. Trademark AP tight stars.
The core is the hard part and that is looking nicely resolved.

Greg.

60 minutes! Blimey roll on when I get that email to tell me mine is on the way.

Its gonna be a super image Peter when you are done....assuming the Sydney weather improves!!!

cheers

Thanks Greg....I can't believe this tragic (Sydney) weather of late. Got another 40 minutes of data, and that looks to be it... as I'm back at work soon.

I've discovered the AP Honders in not exactly plug-and-play with a KAF16803 sensor.

Even a *teeny* tilt in CCD orthogonality shows up in the corners and the focus shifts ever so slightly with temperature.

If you can acquire one, highly recommend the Microtouch electric focuser (with any Feathertouch-fitted AP scope) as it lets you find the focus sweet spot without much fuss and takes care of temperature drift.

..all a bit moot however...:cloudy:

mmm, 60mins? good for the time spent but ordinary for you as a finished image. Lets see how this pans out with serious Ha exposure time and SII OIII. Why the rush to post 1/4 way through?.

Hardy finnished

I do take your point, indeed, why make a post unless you are done!?

Slim pickings I suppose... Plus a litmus test to see whether I'm wasting precious scope time of late. Your frank and fearless comment is always welcome Fred.

Ta. Weather will be the key.

I understand a new production run is underway...who knows what Santa will bring? :)
