I think what Daniel suggested in this (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=99781) thread is actually a good idea. Any chance of getting something like this? Sorry if it has been asked before (couldn't find it).

Interesting, but I think there should be three buttons...

1) Like
2) Dislike
3) I have no particularly strong feelings one way or the other...

I know the third one is going to be a rather large/long button, but I hey... this is the way I usually feel toward most of the photos... :P

Agreed, this would be great.
I often log on to have a quick look around but don't have time for posting replies etc.
Like a tip of the hat when you don't have time to chat.... well, back in the days when people wore hats ;)

I think we should have a like button. I don't think we need a dislike button. If people don't like the image (as an example) just don't push the like button, let's try to keep it positive.

I also think we should have a thanks button for all members (particularly newbies) to use when they get good advice. Other forums tally the amount of thanks that are received to any given member.

Though I like the idea of a "like" button, I wonder if it would be too easy at times just to click a button without making a post that could potentially be a valuable & educational contribution.

The forum is what it is today with thanks to the people that contributed, so I think hitting "like" could be a lazy way out. Just my thoughts.. :)

And I don't like the "thanks" thing either- it reeks of "look how good I am" and seems competitive. I like that we are a community focussed on contribution and education without the need for all that stuff. Having a decent amount of views or posts on my thread is good enough for me. Again, just my thoughts. :P
