Hi,
I finally got a chance to test out my ES 82D 30mm eyepiece, and the thing was so big and heavy, that it tipped my 12" GSO dob off balance and I had to tighten the tension knobs all the way! If the scope was pointed any closer to the horizon; there is no way the tension knobs wouldv'e held. Any ideas for counter-weights would be greatly appreciated

I use a couple of magnets out of old car speakers wrapped in a bit of foam and black canvas tape. Can move them up and down the tube to adjust if needed. I got them from a shop that installs car sound systems as they often have old ones they are going to throw away anyway. You need an angle grinder to cut out the magnet I found it leaveS a few rough edgeS, hence wrapping them up.
Bintel sells Farpoint counterweights that attach to the place where the locking screws go (I always advise removing the locking screws anyway, no use at all!) but the magnets cost $0 apart from the tape and easy to adjust.

Brilliant idea Malcolm
I've burnt out plenty of speakers over the years
Now the TermiNagler will work just fine!
