Gday,

Does any one know of (preferably free) image stacker software that is Ubuntu compatible.

I have tried running deep sky stacker through wine (emulator) however it crashes prior to start up.

any suggestions would be great.

I use a command line one, I'll dig out the name. I think it was actually part of the distro.

It is ALE and comes as part of Ubuntu I think.

Usage is easy, ale image1.jpg image2.jpg output.jpg etc.

You could also try this, it is written in java so should work

Awesome thanks for the ideas..

Having a play with Astrostacker Demo, seems a bit fiddly at first.

Probably something i need to get used to.

Ale keeps telling me something about image magic and only recognising *.ppm files, did you have similar issues?
