Just a little tip if you have an EQ6 or HEQ5-Pro mount with the illuminated PAS. One of the best things I have done to the mount is to remove the LED that is permanently on while the mount is switched on and replace it with a blinking LED from Duck Smiths [Cat # Z4036]. Cost ~$1 and really makes a difference. Cut off 1/2 the LED aperture and could still see Octans stars last night even with a full moon blazing away. The PAS in these scopes really are a minature work of art and very sophisticated. Over engineered and very well thought out and made.Highly recommend adding one if you do not have one already. If you spend the time setting it up as described in the manual, objects stay on my webcam imaging chip for hours without any adjustment.

I will keep the mod in the back of my mind for when I get one at the end of the year.

Hi Allan, thanks for the idea. I normally have to turn the scope on/off when doing polar alignment to blink out the illumation. It will sure help me out.
