We had a spell of better seeing in Adelaide last night, starting around 23:00. Luckily, it held on until around 00:30, when Jupiter was high enough to get reasonable images.
Here's the best result of the session. Like last time, it's LRGB, using a #25R filter for L.

Thanks Laurie.
Thanks Ray. WinJUPOS seems to add a bit more noise when it does the LRGB combining, but still gives me a better result than straight RGB. Can't wait for a nice high Saturn next year.

Interesting - I noticed the same when I tried an RRGB. I guess the noise from the 3 channels is not correlated when doing RGB, so the noise in the combined luminance is an average over the channels. With LRGB, you see the noise from the L only, with no smoothing at all. maybe? regards ray

Sure have been lean times Ivan but some nice detail here, a good effort for your location & the conditions.

Thanks Trevor, unfortunately we must be grateful for whatever we can get of Jupiter for the next few apparitions!

Nice work Ivan. The 25R certainly helps a bit as far as adding contrast goes.
