Unable to join in the fun up north (though I did follow closely on social media), I did make it out to the bay (Point Halloran) for some eclipse action. Here is my result from a very simple setup:

fixed tripod, 5D3, 17-40mm f4 lens, ND400 filter, timer set at 2 minutes 30 interval, Tv 1/8000 and Av f10.

I took a shot as soon as I got setup to use as the background. I was hoping to get there before the sun got up but was a bit late and unfortunately had to live with the bottom corner burnt out a little.

I used Startrails (lovely free software) to combine the images in a very painless manner.

Hello, Andrew

I see you went with the 2m30s intervals and the final results look stunning. The sunrise and wispy clouds in the skies form a perfect background.

A job well done!

Cheers

Dennis
