Eclipse Palmer River Goldfields

Hi All

We managed to catch the event at the Palmer River Goldfields 280kms north west of Cairns.

We had a great sky and even managed to spot the shadow band effects on the ground i.e. thin lighter and darker bands waving around. Another colleague west of cooktown also spotted this effect.


Here is a quick snap of the event. I included a colorised version for a bit of effect, but that is a bit rough and ready and both will need some more work when I get home. Taken with 350d and 80mm refractor. Thanks.

Not sure about the colourised image but the other is very nice, Brett! We saw shadow bands too out past Mt Carbine on the Mulligan Highway.

Your coronal data is good. I like the extent of the image. Not sure about the colourised version though.
