Images taken from Redcliffe Jetty, Brisbane, QLD (S 27deg 13' 36" / E 153deg 06' 55")
Perfect conditions with 83% maximum. There was a noticeable dimming as we approached and egressed from maximum.
Glad I decided to visit Redcliffe instead of Mt Coot-tha. There was a small but enthusiastic group for the duration but I still had time to enjoy the event and take some photos as well.
I am glad those who went to Cairns ended up seeing the Total Eclipse.

A mate of mine was there, he commented on the number of people without filters and how the camera business would be booming over this last fortnight and coming weeks, you could almost smell the toasted CCDs hahaha.
Fantastic pictures, glad brissy had it clear

Thanks. Glad you liked the pictures.
Yes, there was some dangerous behaviour taking place.
One lady was using a packet of green cellophane. When she passed me towards the end of the event I told her that what she was doing wasn't good. I wish that I had seen her doing this earlier.
Another bloke rocked up with a old welders mask that cost him $2. I asked if it was rated for solar viewing and he didn't know.
There will be lots of camera with damaged sensors after this mornings effort.

Ha, you must have been on the other side of the jetty from me. I had a couple of refractors on a Heq5 on the left hand side facing the sea. It was a nice spot indeed.
I was amazed at the amount of people viewing without protection and ended up doing some sidewalk astronomy letting people view through the ED80 while the camera clicked away on the 120.

Hey Mick,
Ignore my other post. I was keeping an eye out for you. Sounds like there was about 50m between us and we still managed to miss each other.
I ended up doing the same as you and let people look through my filtered binos while the camera was hooked up to the scope.
The solar safety message did not hit home with some of the people.
