View Full Version here: : Solar Eclipse Live Coverage on ABC Radio.
612 ABC Brisbane will have live coverage of the eclipse from 5am Wednesday (note- this is Brisbane time).
The "ABC Extra" channel (you'll see it on the pink menu on right hand side of page in link given below) on digital radio will be renamed ABC Eclipse and will carry programming all day from a number of locations in Far North Queensland.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get to hear some of our fellow forum members being interviewed- quite possible! They're playing interviews on it now as I type this.

Thanks for the heads up Suzy. I might take a radio with me to listen during the viewing.
When I saw the thread title, I did immediately think, "That's be right. Trust the ABC to cover a visual spectacle on radio!" :)

Because it is easy to "visualize" a cloudy day... :P
Good luck to those in the path, hope you get lucky. I wish I were there, it's been more than a decade since my last eclipse...

Got the day off to do the partial down south here so thats a good idea.
NASA is broadcasting it live thru the web.
See this link here http://sunearthday.nasa.gov/2012eclipse/
The page is also a very useful resource for everything "eclipse".
Hearing back from some of the guys in Cairns, as of late this morning it was very windy and raining. A group of them are heading inland today because they just don't trust the coastline weather.
EDIT: Oh dear, seems like it's just as bad inland. Apparently there will be a gap of fine weather tomorrow morning, so here's hoping. We have beautiful sunny clear skies here in Brisbane y'day & today (we'll be getting 83% coverage), which makes me feel good about my viewing location, but so terribly nervous & anxious for everyone up there.

Watched it live on Ustream...
Palm Cove got lucky... clear during the eclipse and then clouds covered the sun after third contact... then it reappeared after a few minutes.
Good to see everyone got a chance to see it uninterrupted.
Video was not so great with respect to the corona... to those who were there, how was it?
<LATE EDIT> Great video (NASA/Ustream) of people and scopes on the beach at Palm Cove. Weathers looks great, time for a swim?

SO ANNOYING! I've known about the eclipse for about 3 years, never been to cairns, and two months ago, friends of ours decided to get married in palm cove, so my wife and I went, which meant our time and travel money budget had been spent :(
There's always Sydney 2028... lol
