Out in the Ob last night till about midnight. Seeing was ok but transparency poor, high fine haze mainly. I was doing a alignment using the camera and diverging angle method  and just happened to look up at the right moment to catch a huge meteor running from Nth to Sth over about a 90* + stretch of sky. I didn't see the exact start of burn but it burnt out at about 40* dec in the southern sky.
Time about 23:47, very bright white with I think a small red flash as it extinguished. No fragmentation noted.
Unfortunately just missed the camera's fov doing a 1 min exposure. Would have been an interesting image.

As an aside the diverging angle time capture method with the DSLR has sorted my E/W alignment out quite dramatically. May have to tweak the Dec a fraction but the Tablet can do that. Not having an East or West horizon has caused me a lot of problems with getting it right.
