G'day All,

This is my first real attempt at capturing Jupiter.... I still have no real idea of what I'm doing with what I've got. Any advice is welcome...

Hi Luke it looks good to me, Jupiter has been hard to capture with the jetstream being quite active, is it a single image or is it from a stacked video?

Cheers

It is a single image, taken in TV mode on the camera, using live view.

I am wondering if you picked up one of Jupiter's moons. See bottom left of the cropped and modified copy of your image.

What date and time was your original image taken?

I took the shot last night... around 23:00. In the wider angle views 3 of the moons were visible... but, I chose the tighter shot to try and get some detail of the planet.

Screen grab from Starry Night for Monday 5th Nov, 2300 hrs.

If the above information is correct then it looks like you have managed to capture Europa as well.
