Howdy
I thought Id try something different. I put on my 2x converter, boosting the focal length of my 10 inch scope to 2800 mm, then imaging Planetary Nebula IC 4406
2x 5 mins ISO 1600, UHCS and uv/ir filter in place as was the MPCC and 2x converter. This is cropped down from a larger image

Using the 2X was a good idea as it is quite small huh?

The background looks a little red on my monitor

Nearly imaged this myself with the AP recently but passed it over. I was going to use a 2X barlow to get nearly 2400mmFL but couldn't be bothered changing everything from my usual config (lazy huh?) so thanks for your post you saved me the effort! :thumbsup:

Scott....have to give you credit manualy guiding at double your usual focal length and then cropping...well done.

The 2x converter is good for these small but brighter objects where 5 mins or less at F11.2 suffice :)
With the off axis guider I use a 2.8x barlow, and a 12 mm eyepiece with illuminated recticle, that normally gives me enough magnification to guide ok with a suitable guidestar.
