Outer diameter of GSO RC8 for building a light box?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to have a light box made for my GSO RC8 scope (by our resident Exfso), but I don't have access to the scope at the moment as I'm out of town.

Would another owner be able to measure the outer diameter of their RC8 (including and not including the dovetails) for me please?

Hi Dave
I make the outer circumference around 730mm and the outer "distance" including the mounting plates around 790mm. Distance from end of plate to end of tube, not including dust cap, is 18mm. Suggest you may want to use a piece of card and draw a template of the profile of the plates. This may give the maker a bit more to consider some options.

Misread your actual question. Diameter is 230mm. Height of each dovetail looks be be 16mm.
