The more I learn, the more I realise I have to learn.

I am getting some equipment for observing and astrophotography in the near future, but feel I need to know so much more. I have read about all sorts of things, but I just don't have any experience.

If you are going to do some observing one evening, and would be happy to walk me through the practicalities, I would be very appreciative.

I am planning on getting an refracter Hi Optic APO ED80 (with some enhancements) with a HEQ5 mount, and some bits for astrophotography, so the closer your equipment is, the more I can directly learn from.

The appreciation is there and I do brew excellent all grain beer. ;) I currently have a particularly excellent Schwartzbier and a Belgian Drubble (warning - potent) to share. :drink:

I live in Logan, Brisbane, if you might be able to help over the next few months (even just once), please PM me. :thanx:

Hi Jethro,

It might be worth joining a local astronomical society. I believe there is one in Brisbane. Go to the 'our community' tab on the left and click on clubs. See what's close to you, im sure you'll be able to tap into the other members' knowledge base on members viewing nights.

All the best!

Thanks

Great idea, have done! Of course, this doesn't invalidate my request if someone wants to give me a hand!
