Hi All,

I have had on order a piggyback camera mount for my Meade LX200 10" (classic) scope since June this year. I have been in constant contact with the people I am buying it through and have also had my name down for one at another company. The one I am buying it through, I have been in contact with them recently and they have said that they are on back order and they are waiting for them to come in. Meade apparently is unable to give them an ETA, they can't even say if it will be on the next shipment.

I was just wondering if there was anybody out there having a similar problem waiting for a product from Meade or is it just these piggyback mounts that they are having problems with.

Thanks
Paul

This is typical of Meade, unless the local dealer just happens to have stock, you WILL be waiting a very long time. In future, I'd ring every local telescope place first to see if they have stock. A friend made a camera piggy back mount for me for my LX200 10". Works well and was cheap to make.

Cheers.

Yup, Meade is a pain to get stuff from and shipment info.

Without knowing exactly what you are waiting for, have you considered trying another option, something suitable, but not made by Meade?
A piggy-back mount could be made by anyone really. Post what you are after.

PM BarryKGerdes he could make you what you need as he has made one for his own LX200 Classic in the past.

Hi All,

Thank you so much for your replies. I am looking at the piggyback mount for a 10" Meade LX200 Classic scope. I am not the handiest of people around so I don't know about making one myself. I have had a few ideas on how to do it though.

I think I will see what I can do while I wait for the real one to be delivered and cancel it if I do a good job.

Thanks again. If there are any other comments, please keep them coming.

Paul
