Sorry to impose yet another northern object on the group but the sad truth is that I have been having telescope/mount problems and my only current source of data is from Arizona.

This one is the Heart Nebula (IC1805) but don't go looking for a heart. The field of view isn't big enough to see the whole heart. This was quite a long Ha exposure which enabled me to bring out some fine detail.

Cheers

Steve

You certainly did :eyepop:...no problems with Northern Hemisphere objects either, we get sick of our superior skies at times and enjoy looking down from our ivory tower

Very nice, Steve! Perhaps you should call it the "Ventricle?"

Thanks Rick. Ha Ha - that's a good one.

Thanks Mike. Actually one thing I've found since I began this campaign is that there's lots more good stuff in the north than I thought there was.

Thanks Laurie

I really like well composed B&W h-alpha work.

Hi Steve, that's a wonderful image, with so much detail. Are you planning a colour version too?

Thanks Rolf. Probably will do colour but it might take a while as most of the next dark sky period I'll be occupied with eclipse matters.

Thanks

Thanks Alex. I think you are right about the contrast. I did tweak it up a bit.

Thanks Ross

Thanks Peter

Awesome image Steve! I especially like the rifts of dark nebulosity - they look close enough to touch!

Thanks David. Yes the structure is very reminiscent of the internal structure of the Carina nebula.

Thanks Marc
