Wow, blown away by today's APOD (http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap060509.html).
A rock slab at Mt St Helens is growing at 1 metre a day!
Incredible picture, and check out the time lapse movie linked in the text. Just mind blowing.

Did you see the movie? Looks scary. I wouldn't hang around it for too long. :eek:
at one meter per day you be better off watching it than watching paint dry :P

That truly is amazing.
In the time lapse video, it looks like some giant finger of a robot, machine or something is slowly emerging out of the earth.
It will be fascinating to see what happens in the near future. I hope there's a video camera, or some kind of imaging system, capturing data 24 hours a day.

Yeah that was a pretty cool sequence, but what qualifies it for APOD?
