Hi

Here is a screen capture of Jupiter in K3CCDTools around 9:40pm. Looks like the seeing is gradually improving.

Cheers

Oh dear Paul - sorry to hear that bad news. Still looking clear here but seeing has gone off the boil again. So changeable. I just ran a Jupiter avi through Registax and it wasn't worth saving.

Ah well, an early night and lots of beauty sleep for you eh?

Cheers

Cor blimey Paul, it seems to be getting worse! First clouds, then homework. Well, you’re not missing much outside. Here is a Jupiter from 22:26 so I may call it a night too as it’s too soft to warrant trashing myself with another all nighter.

Man I wish I know how you pulled shot's like that out Dennis. That is another stunner.

Actually shooting avies of Jupiter tonight was part of my homework. At least I got the GRS preceding edge transit, main transit and I think the following edge transit. That's all I needed. Now to process them.

Hey Paul

Wow - now THAT is interesting HW; wish I could have done some of that stuff at Uni. Good luck with the processing mate. I'm inside now, after having put all the tarps on the gear. :hi:

Hmm, will be nice to go to bed the same day I woke up for a change :zzz2:

Cheers

Another nice one Dennis, some good detail there and would hold up to some more aggressive processing I think.

Dennis, another sharp and detailed Jupiter from you ... can't you post something crappy just to prove you're mortal;) :P :D

Seriously good:thumbsup: I was out last night too and felt the seeingw as slowly getting good, but early work for me so had to pack it in round 10pm... it was maybe 7/10 at that point?

hope to post something later.

cheers,

Dennis

Hi Robert

I keep all my bad ones hidden, too embarrassed to show them as there are too many!! Your timing was spot on last night, I reckon seeing peaked somewhere between 8:00 and 10:00pm. I think that's when I managed to grab an avi of Clavius.

I also think that the "X" factor in getting good images for me has simply been time spent at the 'scope capturing images. Grabbing 100+ avi's gives me greater odds at getting that one sweet moment when it all comes together, as I have noticed so much variation even between adjacent avi's during a marathon session.

I try not to eyeball the avi's during capture now, as often I see excellent seeing in the 30 sec "wait" period between one capture ending and the next one starting - it makes me cry!

Cheers

Great photo's Dennis,

Any plans for another "Lunch n Learn" session at work.
There are plenty more interested people on the Hangar floor now, since I got the LX200.

Mike.
