Hi everyone,

I need to ship a small scope to New Zealand from Brisbane.

Any recommendations for the cheapest / fastest / most reliable way to do it?

Thanks!

(My searches of the archives here mainly brings up vendor shipping from US/Eur to NZ.)

I've used pack and send to move a few scopes now and can recommend them if the scope is precious. They are not the cheapest option, but they will deliver it in the same condition it left.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Being a small scope, you can probably wrap the original box/packaging in another inch or two thickness of bubble wrap then just send it with anyone insured against loss but not damage. The best insurance against damage is using packaging which can survive being rolled off the back of the truck.

Most places won't insure glass, though Pack and Send gold class does cover glass breakage if you want that level of cover.

There is just one channel to ship it cheap (other than courier) and every forwarder is using the same but with different pricing.
I can quote for that if you want, which place in NZ?
Cheers Nev

Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated

Shipping turned out to be cheaper than I'd expected... I suppose NZ isn't as "international" as I'd thought

We are in fact your most eastern state, with daylight saving time too.
Most items I've purchased ex-Oz have been simple postal service, and with no issues.
