An Oldie (relatively speaking)

Hi all,

Laurie has been posting some great shots he took many years ago with 'film' see his thread http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=98224&referrerid=13789

So I dug up an old photo taken on the 9th February 1986. I'm the chubs on the left with the short shorts looking through binos, I was 11.

Anyone hazard to guess what we were all staring at?

Here's a clue :) One reason why we have the Orionids each year.

86? yep I reckon Halley's too ;)
I was also 11, and was also using bino's... but I was sneaking out after midnight because...
1) I was not allowed to use mum's expensive binoculars ;) and
2) The street lights used to turn off after midnight.... ah those were the days!
