I thought I would have a go at taking pictures through my small WO Megrez 72 with my new Canon 7D. I was surprised at the results. This was taken using a Skywatcher field flattener and is a crop of the full frame. The full frame was pretty sharp to the edge. The scope and camera were supported on a AZ4 mount. A 1/400 sec exposure at ISO 100

Wow great shot John! Those blue wrens move a lightning speed, so this is a great capture

Thanks everyone. I was very surprised how well it worked. Those small WO scope are great. Easier to focus than a typical telephoto lens too but without the autofocus ability.

yes very nice John. I have often thought of doing the same. I just need one of those mounts. I lugged the eq3 and c-102 down to do some whale watching/imaging (didn't see any) but i did notice the C.A in the images around distant rocks in the water.
Results like this have just added an AZ mount to the list

The Skywatcher AZ4 is a decent mount for doing this kind of photography. Definitely need some form of Alt Az mount for panning
