Hey guys, Im just wondering if anyone would feel comfortable lending out a mono CCD just to try out, or is that asking a bit too much?

Erik.

What are you after? Planetary, solar DSO?

Would you need filters and a wheel as well?

Peter, I'm after something for DSO's. Not sure about filter wheel just yet. I would just like to experiment with the difference in sensitivity compared to my OSC camera. I don't think I'm ready for filters yet.

Which OSC are you using?
I have an SBIG ST-2000Xm you could borrow, but it is a complicated beast to setup.
Maybe download the manual and see if it is something you want to have a go at.

If you have Maxim, I have a larger chip camera you could borrow.

Hey Peter, my OSC is a QHY10. I am using Maxim now, so that's no problem. I had a read of the manual! It's at least 10 times longer than the QYH manual I got with mine, haha! I don't think I'd struggle too much with setting it up. What as your other camera you mentioned? Do you have a filter wheel for the 2000mx?

The ST2000 has the filter wheel, Adaptive optics (AO7) and the muscle plate, all setup and ready to go.

The other camera is a modified Quantix KAF6303E, a bit of a handful as it is kind of hand-made and will only work with Maxim I think.
