I hope someone else somewhere got to enjoy Moon and Saturn conjunction with tonight's flyover of the HST (SEQ).

I was sitting on my veranda enjoying the glorious view of the crescent moon and Saturn in the low west when the HST appeared just to the north of the moon (wasn't expecting it). It passed from the west through zenith and Sagitarius passing north of Gamma Grus and then to the south of Cetus and finally disappeared behind Nu Fornacus almost due east and about 15 deg above the horizon. And the Moon and Saturn still looked glorious.

It did look pretty good. I got lucky too, I've had the same pass for the past 3 nights in a row now at roughly the same time, just getting further south with each sighting. This time I didn't check Heavens above and it was a nice surprise to see it pop out of the twilight glow right beside the moon. I would say it was the longest passing of the HST I've seen. It really was from as low as I could see it in the west to as low as I could see it in the east and straight over zenith and about as bright as Alnair. It literally split the sky in two straight through the milky way to the north of Scorpius.

I guess that's why its still clear up here Dave .... I haven't bought thing in ages. :(;) But I've got clear skies as a benefit :)
