Last night I lugged all the gear to Clayton again. It was a long night but well worth the trip. A few more people were there this time which was nice. I had various issues that I sorted out through the night in time to get some subs of m45. In the meantime I got my first look through a big scope (a 22 inch dob) Tuc 47 was amazing. Paul snapped some aurora shots along with his telescope doing various targets, and so the night was full of excitement. At the end of the night I sent the scope to Jupiter and wacked in a 6 mm with a 2x barlow stars were not flickering to the eye and jupiter just sat there. didnt wave around at all.

Here is my rendition, I look forward to redoing it with my new scope next month.

Nice one Peter despite the little trailing. It is not a so easy target down under, well done

That's a great M45 Peter, heaps of nebulosity and nice stars. As Marco says hard to get a great shot of from down here especially from South Australia, nice job.

Sorry, you probably said sometime but I missed it or I forget :P....what's the new scope coming..?

I have a ultra grade f5 6 inch vx6 coming from orion optics, im pairing that with a custom carbon fiber tube I made. I think the mpcc will produce a nicer field across my qhy9 at f5. Im also keen to see if i get anything out of the 1/10pv optics.
