Meteor shower viewing locations near Melbourne.

Hello

I'm looking for some good camping locations near Melbourne to view the meteor showers that will take place in November. Now when I say near Melbourne I don't mean too close cause I know that the best dark skies a far from city lights but I was more looking for a camp that doesn't have too many trees around because they all seem to be in parks.

About ten years ago during the peak, we went to the Tooradin wetlands, and it was amazing. The south east corridor has expanded a lot since then, though.
