Lagoon & Eagle ... & plane

Got an unexpected clearish night here tonight and I have been playing around trying to get polar alignment tweaked. Took the big scope off the EQ6 and just put the 80mm F5 Achro on. Hooked the DSLR on the back and lined up on Lagoon & Trifid. Managed to get reasonable focus for a change and blasted away with about 30 x 1 minute exposures at ISO 800.
And here's the results ... with a bonus !
Also figured out I'm a smidgeon south of west in my alignment.
And title should be Lagoon and Trifid ... having a mental health night !!

About the same as me last night, except I had 3 separate meteorites through 3 separate and distinctly spaced photos. GRRRRRR. Had to throw out 6 of 20 in total. Should have been 40 minutes total exposure, ended up being 28.

Thanks, happy to finally get some decent results :D . I have done a 46 x 1 min stack this morning and had a bit of a tweak with it now I am awake and gotten a better final image. JPG doesn't do images justice for resolution.

DSS could still use the 3 with meteors through. It would see that as noise and use the other files to write across it.

I am going to hunt around for an APO now. This was on a Achro with a CLS filter in the optics train. Made a BIG difference to the LP effect. At 1 minute my frames are normally quite pink. I could have gotten 2+ minute fames but as I said, my alignment isn't quite on the button and guiding is not working yet. But at least it has shown me which way to go and what is possible. :thumbsup:
