Hi all,

Can someone help me out with this angular distance, please?

I can manage to squeeze the whole of Crux into my 80mm f/5 achro with a 2" focuser & pushing the focal length of the eyepiece to give me upto 6.3deg FOV, but I'm curious to know the actual angular separation of these two.

Alpha & gamma Crux just squeeze in north-south & delta-Jewel Box in the east-west too. Amazing what can be achieved by pushing the envelop with this little scope.

Mental.

According to CdC, 6 deg 0 min 42.6 sec. You need a moderately new version that has the measuring tool.

Stellarium can do that too. Didn't try C2A or TheSky6.

You're welcome Alex.
I had to find things to do waiting for "The Big Race" to start. I'd been up to the newsagent, checked all my emails and replied to a few, added Terry Pratchett quotes to the "fortune" files, and reset most of the clocks for DST. All except SWMBO's Passat where you need a PHD to figure out the process to set both clocks.
