Hi all,

A frame - filling pic of Neper, after James Napier, 17thC Scottish mathematician and inventor of logarithms.

Nestled within Neper is Virchow, after the 19thC pathologist. Virchow is widely remembered for his contributions to all aspects of pathology, diagnostics, and the prestigious journal of the European Pathology Society, "Virchow's Archiv", still publishes to this day.

Banachiewicz after Taduez, early 20thC polish astronomer remembered for his innovations in algebra which were applied to astronomy, engineering and geodesy.

Wildt after Rupert, 20thC German-American astronomer who in 1940 hypothesised that Venus was hot as a result of CO2 - induced greenhouse effect!

22" Newtonian reflector, DMK21 camera with Nagler X3 Barlow. Stack of 600 of 2500 frames in Registax. Seeing = average to rough.

Great Image! Did you take this shot outside your spaceship window while you were on your way to the moon? :)

Thanks, everyone. Neper is one of those craters that is both spectacular and fascinating. The prize shot is to get the sunset just right so that the central peak "peeks" over the shadows! This is a previous shot (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=74783) but the resolution is low.
