It is with much reluctance I offer this superb lens for sale. I do not have time to use it.
It's history is that it was manufactured in 1992 (by the serial number in image two). It was in a display case in Japan until Michaels Camera bought it in 2005. I bought it from Michaels Camera in 2005. It has only really done all its work in my observatory where it was kept at constant temperature 24/7.
It is the non IS version. This makes it far better for astrophotography as the IS version can give distorted stars.
The following images show it as it came out of the observatory along with the leather case and lens cover. I will clean the front surface if the buyer wants me to or it can be done professionally.
Included is a 1.4x teleconverter, a rotatable rear polarising filter, clear antireflection filter and 48mm rear filter holder that takes any 48mm astro filter. As you can see everything is in pristine condition.
The price is $3000.
This lens has a single crystal Fluorite element and two ED elements in the main lens assembly. It's clear aperture is 104mm.
