Hi all,

This is a single exposure taken whilst I was trying to focus on it, in the end I didn't actully take a series of images as I panicked a little when I noticed my camera warming up, now I know that it would've been ok, but I learnt something new :)

Had I stuck at this focus point and not switched my camera off I think I would have had a beauty

Canon 60d
ISO6400
Single10sec exposure
Sky Watcher ED80 Pro Gold Edition '1st light'
Sky Watcher HEQ5
Orion Star Shoot Guider on a 50mm Scope
Backyard EOS Software 'Camera Control'

Good day to all :hi:

The field looks great Carlos. You'll just need a lot more data but that's spot on. Try this one from Crago or Ilford and it should be good.

Looks great Carlos. When was it taken and from Carlton?

If it was last night in Carlton, imagine what you can do away from such a bright moon and the light pollution of carlton!

Thanks Marc fingers crossed it won't be too cloudy at Crago this weekend :)

thanks Loki yep Carlton just off my balcony, a couple of street lights, one or two cars every minute and the full moon as it was taken on 30th during the league grand final.

Doing some more imaging right now as I speak, The jewel box and tarantula sooo much fun :)

I hope it clear this weekend

Thank you Laurie :)

Tell me about it, I'm yet to get a clear and non windy night at Crago. It's a beautiful night tonight, I'll pack up in 30 min and go to work.

Which way does your balcony face? How much sky does it give you?

Mainly south, south east... As for sky Canopus just popped up at 15'deg and all the way up to zenith.

Cool, what method do you use to align?

I would think seeing the SCP would be pretty hard from Carlton!

The four finger walk from ALPHA GRUX shown to me by Ian from ASNSW. It's pretty close.

I'm yet to see the SCP from anywhere, everyone seems to guess more or less where it is. Makes me wish I had a pier on my balcony, I may go done that path.

How about you, can you get any imaging done from home?

Not a lot, i haven't tried much to be honest. Can't see south at all, and I'm right next to a car park with 24/7 lighting :/
