Hi. After many missed attempts, i snagged a partial transit :)
It was only a matter of time before i captured one as the planes fly almost always the same heading departing for Melbourne and sometimes Sydney and Brisbane.
This one was on it's way to Melbourne after departing Adelaide. The flight info is on the attached pic, although i think they used a different pic description of the plane as it looks different to the one in my image.

Camera- 500D @ prime focus, manually depressed shutter(no remote)
Mount-EQ3 RA tracking
Telescope-C102-HD Achro Refractor.

Captured in RAW image file. The Moon was a tad over exposed in the origional image so i toned it down a bit in PS.

I hope you like it as much as i do :D
I like how the left engines vapor trail distorts the Moon and how the right engines vapor almost looks like it is reflecting Moon light.

Great shot Steve. I quite like the daytime background sky.

A manual remote shutter release cable is a snap to make for a Canon camera if you have a soldering iron. As a plus, you can make it as long as you like.

Thanks Ivan. Great tip about the shutter cable, thanks. I do not have a soldering iron but am thinking about getting one for other DIY projects.

You've got to hand it to Virgin...

(And some people thought they'd never get Galactica off the ground. :))

Nice capture. Well done.

Thanks Brain and Greg. I would like to see Virgin Galactic or anyone else get up and running soon. The hype would be huge :)

It has been on my list for a while to get a Moon transit. I am still keen to go better and capture one more central in the Moon and maybe a night sky one too. I will keep trying, can't stop now :D

Great capture Steve and the perspective of travel towards the moon adds to the image.
