Very interesting results Scott! Hate to see you really going deep, looks like the jetstream was still there. was there any high cloud?

OK I will say it, WOW. the only excuse for me is that I am envyous of your abilities mate. star spikes and everything! Might see what a difference IP makes, i might have a go processing your images in IP2.75

Hi Scott,

these are outstanding images, well done.

I notice in particular that the diffraction spikes on the brighter stars are now very well defined after the new mirror coating. And even your focus seems better than ever ! Maybe because the reflected photons are now much sharper with the new mirror coating.

The image of the trifid is extra-excellent.

Yep I agree, fantastic images there Scott.
Beautiful tonal colours and detail.
Love the spikes too.
And hand guided to boot.

Superb.

Thanks all.
I took xtra care to get everything sharp. I laser collimated the secondary to get the laser spot dead on the centrespot on the primary. Before attaching the camera I put on an eyepiece and star collimated the primary spot on. Guide stars with the off axis guider seem a little brighter and sharper now too :)
Guiding the Omega was a real struggle as I was nearly nodding off while doing it, as it was around 2:30 am and my 2nd big night in a row.
