View Full Version here: : Jetstream JUPITER May 3... will the skies ever still again?

Hi All, despite the twinkling stars I couldn't let yet another cloud free night go by without at least trying my luck. Pulled out the 7inch Mewlon as it's quicker to cooldown and should be less affected by seeing than the C9.25.

Shouldn't have bothered. Seeing was 2/10, peaking at 3/10, about the worst conditions that I've actually bothered trying to capture in.

Anyway, here's an image... one processed with LR (left) and one with ME (right) deconvolution, 3 iterations and 1.3 curve radius is bother cases.

cheers,

matt

Still ... not bad Rob, and nice just to see someone doing some imaging the last few days!

I'll say this again. I really like the look of your processing.

Well done, mate:thumbsup:

yup, same here, no clouds for most of the night, but the seeing was bad. I had trouble focussing at 250x!!!

watching that jetstream thunder thu the middle of australia and up form down south for tassie, maybe it is a good thing we have meteors to look at via naked eye!!

cos anything needing a magnification > x1, won't keep still!

the seeing has been bad for some time... and the cooler months are supposed to be more stable arent they?

Had a look at this site [http://weather.wvec.com/auto/wvec/global/Region/AU/2xJetStream.html]
and no wonder the seeing is not very good. Jetstreams merging just above Brisbane

Thanks guys, looks like Sydney is emerging from the Jetstream below and Adelaide looks clear to go.... Will give it another shake tonight to see if I can score a 4/10 for seeing up here :D

Nice colours Rob! I know the frustration.. it's been so long without decent seeing that you even put yourself through the pain of imaging in soup, just to do something!

I'm going to give it a go tonight from Brisbane just to see what can be done

The jetstream might not be over us here in SA, but the 100% cloud cover is trying my patience...

Nice images given the conditions Robert.
