These are my very first astrophotos with my Canon 60D and ED127.
All stacked with DSS
Moon - 5 shots at ISO100, cropped with Picasa
NGC4755 - 8 shots, each 15 secs at ISO 800
NGC6231 - 9 shots, each 15 secs at ISO 800
Manual focusing
No darks, no flats, just lights.

Might not be world class yet, but I am just rapped that I got results on the first night.

Hey mate, I like your moon shot, you've got some nice clean contrast without overexposing it.

Thanks John,

Thanks Daniel,

I've still got a lot to learn, but I think I'm going to enjoy the ride, while trying not to spend too much money.

Hi
I took the same images last night from PERTH (23 September) of the moon..
why does my image look upside down.. any ideas ?

and why is the phase of the moon going up horizontaly and not to the side of the moon..
as the moon tilted on its axis ?

Cheers!
Stephan

Thanks Graham, thanks Laurie,

I'm sticking to the easy stuff first, bright clusters and the moon.

Stephan, actually your image is up the right way - it's mine that it upside down. I used a refractor which shows its image upside down. On your photo if you are facing west then the setting sun is to the bottom of the picture, hence the lower part of the moon is lit. On mine I was facing west, but the upper portion of the moon it lit - hence upside down. In the end it doesn't matter, just flip the image and either is right.

PS the moon was photoed (is there such a word) on 22/9/12 from Melbourne.
