LMC mosaic attempt

I thought I'd try sticking a couple of frames of the LMC together using pixinsight. The CLS filter must be at a slight angle in the Tak's T-adapter as there are some very strange colour gradients in all the images I got with this in place, but the pixinsight DBE tool does seem to do a good job of removing them.
I need to go out and get some more data and construct a more carefully planned mosaic, but I think this might work out for my eventual plan of a wall-sized print of the LMC.
Each panel is only half an hour's worth 3 x 10 mins @ iso2000. I had to resize this image by 50% to get it onto astrobin again, there's a limit to how many pixels they can manage.
hardware = D800 + Tak FSQ106 + G11.

Thanks Pat - I like the thing that looks like a supernova remnant in the lower left corner - it's not 1987a, as that's over on the other side of the taranatula.

Thanks for the feedback, nice to hear others appreciate it.The Tak's remarkably flat field makes the mosaics relatively easy. Having a bit of a fiddle around it looks like I'll need 8 frames for the LMC.

The supernova looking thing on the keft hand side of the Tarantula is the N70 super-bubble complex. Steve Crouch has a good image of it on his website or most likely on here.

Thanks all, bit surprised to see this thread resurrected! - I'm now 4 frames into a 6 frame mosaic of the whole thing and next new moon should see it finished. The mosaic image at full resolution is 4Gb, and so far looks a lot better than my first effort. I promise I'll put it up when done.
I'm so taken with this camera I think I'll buy a modified D800E instead of going to a 16803 chipped CCD. The camera I'm using now is an unmodified D800- here's my astrobin page for some examples of what it can do (except the solar system pics, obviously). I thinks the FSQ106 is a pretty big part of the equation too.
