Something unidentified near 47TUC

Hi All,

I was playing around last night with a Skywatcher ED80 that my brother-in-law has, on the HEQ5Pro and seeing if I could get focus etc...

I took 11 x 3 min shots at ISO 400 of 47TUC and when stacking them, noticed a nebulous area nearby that Stellarium doesnt identify and I am not sure what it could be?

Please ignore the dust bunnies, I havent processed this properly, simply stretched it to bring up the histogram.

Can anyone shed any light on this one? Any ideas? I have attached an overlaid pic on the Stellarium field.

Cartes Du Ciel would suggest it is Galaxy PGC:260239 Mag 13.00 dimension: 2.4 x 1.4 '
RA: 00h25m30.09s Dec: -72° 43' 19.0"

Thanks everyone, seems my Stellarium isnt showing everything up, even when the view options for stars, nebulae and galaxies are set to max and I have downloaded all the star catalogs. Quite strange.....

It was nice to have a play with the ED80, made me see how much more light the 200mm newt rakes in for the same amount of exposure, I might stick with the 8" for now, even though it was nice to simply pick up the HEQ5 Pro WITH the ED80 mounted, rather than two step the OTA and the mount with the 8"....nice to look through visually though.

Worth using the excellent cloudsofmagellan.net.au charts for fuzzy blobs like these! I had the pleasure of seeing this little beauty in an 18" scope at a star party last week - it's open cluster Kron 3, visible in the following image (K-3 is on panel 9, click for a labelled version). It was also mentioned in an article by Les Dalrymple in October 2011's Australian Sky & Telescope "A Little Cloudy". It's described by Les as a 6 billion year old cluster.

Clouds of Magellan charts are brilliant for identifying the various fuzzies and patches of the LMC and SMC.

CdC and Stellarium don't have everything cataloged. PGC260239 happens to be the closest object.
This object is about half way between PGC260239 and TYC9140-413-1. A Unimap plate solve puts it at 00:24:43.920-72:47:49.985. Vizier says those are within .25 arcmin of the coords of Kron 3, as suggested by Mark and Andy.
